How I Personally Sold 5 Mobile Apps Without Cold Calling

When it comes to cold calling, I think it’s safe to say that everyone dreads this part of sales. It’s a lot of rejection and can be very time consuming. As a mobile app reseller, we understand that a lot of you can be pressed for time, aren’t comfortable with cold calling, and are looking for an easy way to get your first mobile app sale or continue to let the sales rain.

So I ran a little experiment… I told myself I would take everything that we’re doing at Bizness Apps and act as a mobile app reseller. Here’s what I achieved in 30-days…

  • I did not do any cold calling
  • I used email to set up appointments
  • I used Bizness Health to generate leads
  • I sent over 1,000 emails with multiple templates
  • I contacted the same lead multiple times (usually 5-6 times until I got a YES or NO)
  • I scheduled around ~10 appointments
  • I sold 5 mobile apps in 30-days

So how did I do it?

First it started with building a lead list.

I targeted industries from restaurants, to gyms, to car washes, to churches in locations that ranged from the west coast to the east coast all using Bizness Health. I made sure to only search for leads with email as this was key to my strategy of making sales as easy as possible for everyone here.

Now once I had a bunch of great leads, imported into my Sales Pipeline, I began to contact them one by one with personalized email.

  • Make sure to ALWAYS mention the business name in every email you send
  • Never use a email service provider like Mailchimp, Constant Contact, iContact, etc to send emails to these leads as it is illegal
  • You need to send personalized emails to every email that you have

Here’s some real responses I got from my emails:



As you can see with this example — this client REALLY loved seeing the app preview. This is what really closed the deal with this restaurant. Seeing is believing!


With this example here, sometimes you just get lucky. I sold an app to a single person who had 3 car washes after contacting him nearly 6+ times with different emails. Eventually, he responded back and scheduled an appointment with me where I learned his goals as a business owner.

I’ve tried to reach you a few times over the past week to discuss growing your business with a custom mobile app and share how you rank against your competition but haven’t had too much luck. This tells me one of three things…

1. You’re not interested
2. You’re still interested but haven’t had time to get back to me yet.
3. You’ve fallen and can’t get up and in that case please let me know and I’ll call 911 for you…

Please let me know which one it is because I’m starting to worry…

  • 14.1% response rate (HOLY COW LOOK AT THAT RESPONSES RATE!)

Now once I got a reply I always made it super easy to schedule a time with me.

There’s a few tools I’d recommend:

Why are these tools so useful? It makes it dead simple for someone to schedule an appointment with you. The more back and forth you have with any prospect the less likely they are to give you a time. Simply give them a link or a set of times to choose from and all they have to do is click a link and you will both receive calendar invites automatically. Make buying from you easy!


So ask you can see here… you really can cold email people using Bizness Health as a mobile app reseller and close deals.

But how do you go in for the close you may ask?

Few tips here…

  • Never state the price, ask their budget and work with them
  • On the first call, set up an appointment, so you can come back with a beautiful app design
  • After your second call where you go over your app, get out a proposal to them based on their goals
  • Be relentless in showing them that their business will see a return on investment with a mobile app

If you look at the above, I may have gotten a little lucky with my emails, but here’s what I did:

  1. I set up a demo and made it easy for them to click to schedule
  2. I went over their health score briefly to figure out what their goals were (schedule your next time to talk during the call!)
  3. I scheduled a second call to go over an app preview (schedule your next time to talk during the call!)
  4. I sent over a detailed proposal with their goals, cost, and a time to chat next week (schedule your next time to talk during the call!)
  5. I closed the deal

Selling is something that takes practice but with the right tools & strategy it can be this easy. You just need to put in the effort.


  • Send personalized emails
  • Get them curious about how you can help grow their business
  • Find out their  goals on the first call and schedule a second call to show them an app demo
  • Create an app demo (we have an awesome app design service)
  • On the second call go over how this will grow their business, listen more, talk less, and ask QUESTIONS!
  • If you’ve done all of the above correctly you should be able to close a business on the third call
  • Make buying from you easy!
